GIZ is a federally owned enterprise and is supporting German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of International Cooperation for sustainable development.

For implementation of the regional project ” Promotion of Sustainable of Agriculture Value Chains in ASEAN” (ASEAN AgriTrade) in Cambodia, we are seeking for a candidate for the position of Junior Advisor (national candidate) based in Phnom Penh.

Responsibilities

The Junior Advisor-AgriTrade will support the project with technical knowledge and will be responsible for contributing towards the achievement of the program’s contractual targets in Cambodia. He/she will do everything possible to ensure that the country-specific program targets are met.

• assists with the general project planning and supports the development of project concepts including preparation, organization and moderation of planning exercises and their implementation, management, monitoring, quality management, evaluation, communication and documentation
• supports the mobilization of stakeholders ( private, public and civil society), drafts and prepares advise for national institutions on policy reforms related to the output areas with support of the (regional) team and short-term experts
• formulates terms of reference, support the selection and supervision of external support( consultant) assignment for selected research studies, workshop and/or training events
• supports the design, preparation and organization of technical workshops as well as high level events (in-person or virtual) and other activities
• supports in preparing appropriate input, confirmation of data for various project reports including annual reports and contributes to other reports required by GIZ head office
• ensures knowledge transfer of project information
• documents the entire process in the project to become knowledge product
• drafts reports and presentation document
• perform other duties and tasks that the request from the project leader
• supports background research within the project context

Requirement

• university degree with the fields of agriculture, agribusiness, international trade, economics, business administrative etc,…
• two-year of professional experiences related to agriculture, value chain development ( agriculture value chain is a plus) in Cambodia, ASEAN and other international markets
• experience in organizing, designing, facilitating trainings, workshops and conferences; proven experience in network management, multi-stakeholder dialogues
• experience in drafting recommendation papers, guideline strategies and legislative proposals
• good knowledge of relevant stakeholders in the sector required, knowledge of international framework and good practice of the topic is an asset
• excellence spoken and written in Khmer, complete fluency in English (spoken and written), knowledge of the other knowledge of the region is an asset
• experience in communication campaigns and in designing gender sensitive messages and activities, knowledge of local information distribution channel (TV, radio, papers, website, social media etc,..) would be beneficial
