WWF’s mission in Cambodia is to ensure that there will be strong participation and support from all people to conserve the country’s rich biological diversity. The WWF-Cambodia conservation programme that started more than 20 years ago is implemented in 2 landscapes – Eastern Plains Landscape (EPL) and Mekong Flooded Forest (MFF) Landscape and built over the following 4 pillars of interventions: (1) Securing Landscape Integrity and  Sustaining Conservation and Livelihood Development, (2) Freshwater and Sustainable Hydropower, (3) Protected Area Management and Conservation Research and (4) Sustainable Financing – Green Economy. 

Duties and Qualifications

WWF is looking for a candidate for the position of Head of Communications and Knowledge Management based in Phnom Penh. This role promotes WWF-Cambodia’s efforts and achievements in its key conservation targets among the organization’s target audiences. To help boost conservation success, the Head of Communications and Knowledge Management builds support for WWF-Cambodia’s conservation agenda by identifying opportunities for proactive, targeted, innovative communications and knowledge management that catalyse change in key constituencies, while offering compelling stories and sharing lessons learned and reinforcing the WWF brand. This role identifies key channels that are important for influencing decision-making processes, building and maintaining a positive profile for our work and the staff dedicated to achieving our mission. The Head of Communications and Knowledge Management identifies partnership opportunities that will further WWF-Cambodia’s conservation and brand building agenda, and implements them with key staff and leadership.
 
The Head of Communications and Knowledge Management leads WWF-Cambodia’s overall communications and knowledge development. He/she implements strategies and plans and liaises with WWF network offices, WWF partners, and external stakeholders for timely and effective capturing and sharing of lessons, and using them for advocating and influencing conservation outcomes. The position will regularly work with all relevant WWF-Cambodia technical teams (policy, programme development, M&E, research and project leads) and landscape teams for development of communication materials and knowledge sharing and management. This role will train WWF-Cambodia staff on media relations, crisis and risk communications, storytelling, internal communications and other key communication functions as needed. Most importantly, the Head of Communications and Knowledge Management will develop a clear vision for WWF-Cambodia and develop innovative, proactive communications strategies that move the organization’s conservation agenda and take it to a higher level of awareness and success.
